After 8 weeks of lockdown - and the significant curtailments previously mentioned - the date of 4th May was a one of real delight. At last, we were once again allowed to run outside, as long as it was solo, and still staying within our comune - and with no mask! On the Sunday...the sense of palpable excitement..
And then thankfully the day was gloriously sunny, and not too hot either. Just perfect.
The roads that I had not seen for 2 months were waiting for me - and of course, nature was not in lockdown - the fields had gone from ploughed soil to green swathes of wheat, olives, sunflowers, tobacco, and all sorts of other things.
The grapes, more importantly, were starting to grow..
And the poppies were out as well - so beautiful. This was the May that we wanted to be able to see..
