One of the upsides of the very open view from La Torretta is that you frequently see birds of prey circling. Also, we have seen amazing acrobatic displays from the swifts (or swallows..) in the summer evenings, around dusk, as they feast on the small insects.
This was the first time, however, that we had seen a murmuration of starlings, and so close to the house..
...they make an incredible sound with the beating of wings - and then they settle in a tree and start squawking all together, it is quite a noise. A quick clap of the hands and they are skywards again, a magnificent sight!
