When we were here in September, we met the wonderful Stefania (from the B&B Casa Panorama ad Est on Tripadvisor) and her husband Gianluca, who shares with me a love of wine. I made a promise that, when we came out in December, I would bring a selection from the wine cellar to share.
And thus it was that 6th December was chosen - Stefania was doing the food, a kind of tasting selection to go with the wines - and I brought the wines. We were 12, a perfect number, 8 of which were Italian, and thus about 75% of the night was in Italian with only the occasional need to translate some wine terms (fortunately, Francesco and Monica from the local winery Chiorri came for the evening, and could help with that). Also a lovely Australian couple Carl and Mary came along, who have had a house here for nearly 20 years.
The selection...(note the Chiorri Rose and the Primitivo Passito were from Francesco and Gianluca, the rest from me..)
A wonderful selection of food to go with the wines..
and all round a wonderful evening...home by about 2am as well.
The next morning I walked up to collect the car, and took this view of our house from Stefania's balcony, in the morning sun.
