1st of December - what a great day for my first long run. I decided to head up and over the top ridge, and take a chance on some unknown country lanes. This is about 4 miles in, looking back towards Cerqueto (always visible from the huge square of the Checcarini animal feed factory)...

...and then this is the road ahead - what goes down, of course, must go up....a long slow grind up towards Olmeto...

...then over the ridge, and down the other side - a brief stop next to some vines. Yes that is sun behind me...

...the wonderful view towards Castello Delle Forme, with the mist in the valley below...

...finally, at about 9 miles, the strada bianca and the 2 miles to get back to La Torretta - some more uphill of course!

Really, a wonderful first long run, and one that shook off all the concerns and worries that had built up over the previous week.
