Todi for Christmas

On the Sunday before Christmas (thankfully the wind and rain had all stopped by the evening) we headed over to Todi, to see the lights and to have a drink with Federico from Minciarelli. The evening was cold and we felt properly Christmassy!

The main square was magical, a feast of light falls and shooting stars. The shape of the main Piazza lends itself very well to this. Some have said this year that the house of Babbo Natale (Father Christmas) is a bit too large and takes over the square - which is as may be - however it is still totally charming, and magical to walk around

and down the Via del Corso

Further down this street, at the Porta Romana, there's a small piazza, and there was a whole evening of theatrical events - we just managed to catch the end of this rather funky human puppet show on stilts, finishing with fireworks!

Beautiful!
