Unlocking stage 2 part 2 - restaurants

The week of May 18th brought the next stage of the 'slockdown' (see below for explanation) and the opening of restaurants. It was going to be so good to be able to come out and have lunch. And thus on the Friday of that week, we headed off to Todi (even driving outside of the Comune felt slightly naughty!)  and to lunch at the Vineria San Fortunato. I really couldn't fault them - everything is done very carefully - distance between tables, menu by QR code (who thought that they’d come in so handy?) and only a small number of tables. It is a start!

It was also wonderful also to see Federico Minciarelli for a socially-distanced glass of wine.

‘In bocca al lupo’ for Giuseppe and Rita at the Vineria, I hope that the tourists do start to return.

ps I quite liked using the word 'slockdown', since in Italian a negative is often expressed by putting an S in front of the word - eg 'fortunatamente/sfortunatamente'. No idea if this is right, but it sounds good and flows nicely..
